I decided to become a landscape architect because I am passionate about the environments of Aotearoa /New Zealand and I am delighted that I followed that path — I have been in practice for over 35 years.

I love working through all stages of a project; site master planning, landscape design, detail design, preparing contracts and supervising the implementation of projects, I enjoy carrying a project through to fruition.

I usually am involved with, or leading, multi-disciplinary projects with a team of landscape architects and other specialists supporting our design input. I am very experienced in, and committed to, engaging with mana whenua from the outset of a project; and working with a range of stakeholder and community groups to facilitate design solutions and outcomes that meet group and community needs.

I particularly enjoy mentoring younger members of our team, offering support and seeing them grow to love their chosen profession. I have a particular interest in the design of education facilities (pre-schools through to larger campus sites), parks and public open spaces because these environments foster learning and a love and care for the environment.
