Our expertise
Master Planning
Drawing by Colin Allen
Master planning is the process of creating the 'big picture' vision for complex development projects or for future urban and rural growth. We bring to these projects our own expertise in resource management, design and ecology and co-ordinate the input of other professionals through our project management and consultation skills.
Boffa Miskell frequently takes the lead in master planning projects, working closely with clients and their legal and financial advisors, other consultants and the relevant territorial and government agencies. Typical projects include growth studies, new towns and settlements, urban revitalisation studies, urban and rural subdivisions, business parks and resorts.
Development and master planning services include:
- Feasibility and site analysis studies including input from other professionals such as demographers, economists, engineers, architects and social scientists;
- Structure planning and the development of spatial growth frameworks;
- Design concepts, including co-ordination and collaboration with urban designers, architects, landscape architects, planners, engineers, retail consultants, ecologists and cultural heritage advisors;
- Consultation programmes with stakeholders, affected parties and the wider community.
