Mara Hupara playground and Victoria Square are finalists for the Ngā Aho Award.

Te Auaunga is a finalist for the Public Good Award.

Boffa Miskell Chief Executive Kerry Gupwell says, “The Best Awards celebrate excellence in excellence in graphic, spatial, product, interactive and motion design.

“As designers within the built and natural environment, we’re proud that our work is among those short-listed for these awards, and especially honoured to see projects under consideration for the Ngā Aho award and the Public Good award.  We believe that Mātauranga Māori and Te Aranga Design Principles are complementary to modern design and environmental practices, and we strive to make these an integral part of our work.

“Additionally, as a multi-disciplinary consultancy, we strongly believe that holistic design includes community and ecological outcomes.”

Winners will be announced on 4 October..
