After living overseas for several years, I now work closely with the Urban Design and Planning disciplines, applying my skills in a New Zealand context. Some of the work I’m most excited about has been research and development associated with the use of ArcGIS Urban, a 3D planning scenario application developed by ESRI. Through this tool we can compare different regional planning scenarios’ carbon emissions, estimates, and a whole lot more.

During my time in Norway I took a Master’s in Human Geography before working for Oslo Municipality as a GIS/planning specialist. While working there, I developed GIS models for development scenarios on a city- and regionwide scale, as well as specialising in accessibility analysis, spatial statistics and thematic maps focussing on social data and its spatial patterns. This was particularly relevant for the development of the Municipal masterplans.

Another strength that I continue to develop, is larger scale analysis - finding opportunities to create highly transparent analysis models in FME to help solve human geographical problems.
