Profile
Phil is a Landscape Architect with strong interests in taking projects from the detailed design/contract documentation stage through to overseeing implementation of landscape contracts.
Phil is experienced in overseeing the construction process and liaising with clients and contractors. Recent design documentation and construction supervision work Phil has been intimately involved with include: Pegasus Town, Caroline Bay Timaru, University of Canterbury Science Precinct and Library-Registry Plaza, Youth Justice South at Rolleston, Northlands Mall and Palms Mall.
Phil has a strong background in landscape design using computer-aided design (CAD), and has strengths in using many computer programmes such as Microstation and Photoshop. These are helpful tools in communicating complex designs, plans and maps in a clear and simple format.
Prior to joining the Boffa Miskell team, Phil worked for Christchurch City Council, where for 5 years he prepared various landscape and development plans for Council Parks, Reserves and Streets.

Landscape Design
Conceptual design, master planning, detailed construction and planting design, schedules of quantity, specifications, contract documentation and costings.
Open Space Planning and Development
Concept planning and design of parks and open spaces in both rural and urban areas for recreation and other uses.
Visual Simulations
Providing visual simulations of unbuilt developments for promotion or as evidence in assessing the effects on the environment for resource consents.
Computer Aided Design
Producing site plans and working drawings using specialised computer software. Draughting in 2 and 3 dimensions, using Microstation. Creating and manipulating terrain models in Geopak for use in spatial site analysis and earthwork calculations.
Public Consultation
Working with communities, interest groups and stakeholders to facilitate discussion and positive outcomes through design.
Construction Supervision
Overseeing the construction process, liaison with clients and contractors, costings and job completion.
Working Drawings
Developing conceptual designs into detailed construction drawings for project implementation.
