Profile

Yvonne has worked as an environmental consultant on a wide range of projects addressing environmental and visual effects assessment, nature conservation and restoration, and recreation planning. She has been involved as a project co-ordinator in several projects funded by the European Union.

During her time at Boffa Miskell she has specialised in preparing landscape and visual assessments for development projects within sensitive environments, exploring the use of GIS for landscape studies as well as the preparation and presentation of evidence for Council and Environment Court hearings.

Prior to joining Boffa Miskell in 2005 she pursued a professional career at a medium size landscape planning firm in Austria for three years and operated as a self-employed environmental consultant in New Zealand.

Evaluating landscape character and quality for regions, districts or developments. Advising on objectives and policies for the ongoing management of the landscape.

Assessment of effects on the environment

Evaluating landscape and visual effects of projects and advising on mitigation as the basis for site/route selection, development planning and undertaking consultation for resource consents.

Visual assessment

Assessing the existing character and visual effects of proposed changes to specific landscapes. Advising on mitigation effects, land development and land management policies.

Tourism & recreation planning

Tourism and recreation research. Resolving development issues for planning consents, management plans or policy formulation. Strategies for developing, siting and managing facilities and services.

Management plans

Prescribing long term management policies and programmes for parks, reserves, river catchments and special resource areas such as sensitive and protected landscapes and conservation areas.
