About Helen

Prior to joining Boffa Miskell in 2014, Helen was Associate Director at the Centre for Wildlife Management and Conservation (Lincoln University), where she led a nationwide team of experts in engineering, creative design, animal behaviour, toxicology and ecology. Helen comes from an academic background where she has been focused on the development of innovative technologies and tools for wildlife management and monitoring.

Helen is currently leading multiple R&D projects for a range of clients both in NZ and internationally. She has a passion for working with multi-disciplinary teams to develop novel technologies and optimised strategies which solve critical environmental issues. Her work in the R&D sector has been frequently featured in the press, including many articles, interviews and webinars.

Helen also advises groups on how to achieve their conservation and restoration goals, including reviewing the success of large-scale restoration projects in NZ, and developing longer term strategic and operational plans to ensure conservation goals can be achieved.

Helen has significant experience in liaising and communicating with key groups including industry and commercial partners, Maori, community groups and stakeholders.  She has 20 years practical experience, multiple publications and awards for her contribution to the ecological and research sectors.
