Kaimātai Hauropi | Ecologist
Kaiarataki Matua | Senior Professional

I work primarily in the terrestrial ecology space with a focus on herpetofauna, though I like to branch out into other areas when given the opportunity.

My work has allowed me to gain experience across a range of jobs, including effects assessments, opportunities and constraints mapping, management plans, restoration plans, and Wildlife Act authorities. My role also carries on throughout the implementation of projects to include ecological surveys, monitoring, and fauna salvage, as well as providing ecological advice to ensure that works are carried out in an environmentally sensitive way.

I am passionate about working on projects that allow us to leave a place better than when we started, whether that's increasing biodiversity through protecting and enhancing existing ecosystems, or through considered planting and habitat construction.
