2026 PCNZ Property People Awards finalists

The Property People Awards highlight the talent, passion, and dedication that drive the property industry forward. Unlike the PCNZ Property Awards, presented earlier in June, the Property People Awards are about the teams and individuals who bring the built projects to fruition. Three Boffa Miskell people and teams are finalists this year.

Boffa Miskell Auckland – represented by the many designers and planners, past and present, who have contributed to the transformation of Auckland’s City Centre and Beyond over the past three decades – is a finalist in the City Shaper Category.

Ludo Campbell-Reid, the former Design Champion for Auckland and General Manager of the Auckland Design Office, supported the team's nomination.

His statement said, in part: “[Boffa Miskell] were not simply consultants commissioned to design individual projects. Over many years they became trusted design partners, collaborators, critical friends and, importantly, delivery partners. They understood that transforming a city required more than good ideas. It required the ability to translate vision into technically credible, buildable and enduring outcomes.

“Great companies, like great cities, are ultimately about people, and ‘Boffas’, as we affectionately called them, had some of the best in the land… What distinguished Boffa Miskell was not simply individual talent, but the collective capability of the practice. They brought together landscape architecture, urban design, planning, ecology, cultural identity and technical expertise within a genuinely multidisciplinary approach. They were curious about international best practice but equally committed to creating responses grounded in Auckland and Aotearoa.”

In the same City Shaper category, Boffa Miskell is part of the finalist SkyCity Team for the NZICC Project. The team comprises SkyCity Entertainment, Beca, Warren + Mahoney, Moller Architects, Woods Bagot, Boffa Miskell, Rider Levitt Bucknall, and Urban Outcomes.

Landscape architect Blair Clinch, a principal in the Tauranga office, is a finalist in the City Shaper category for the PCNZ Central Property People Awards.

Blair has played a key design role in waterfronts, town centres, streetscapes, recreation corridors, mixed-use developments and neighbourhoods. Blair champions public spaces that are accessible, connected, culturally grounded and responsive to their landscape context. His work demonstrates a belief that successful urban environments are not defined simply by buildings or infrastructure, but by the quality of everyday experiences they create

In Tauranga, his contribution has been particularly significant. Projects such as the Marine Parade Coastal Pathway, the Memorial Park to CBD Walkway Underpass and Boardwalk, Tauranga CBD CPTED assessments, and numerous residential and mixed-use developments have helped create a more connected, walkable and people-focused city. Together these projects support a broader shift in Tauranga toward an urban form that prioritises public life, active transport, coastal access, environmental restoration, and cultural identity.

Beyond Tauranga, Blair has played key roles in transformational town centre projects in Taupō, Te Puke and Whitianga. These projects share a common thread: reclaiming public space for people, strengthening local identity, supporting economic vitality and reconnecting communities with the landscapes that define them.
